Brand New is an American alternative rock band consisting of lead vocalist, guitarist, and lyricist Jesse Lacey, guitarist Vincent Accardi, bass guitarist Garrett Tierney and drummer Brian Lane.[2] The band was formed in 2000 in Merrick, New York[3] and partly consists of former members of the band The Rookie Lot.

The band has released three studio albums so far - Your Favorite Weapon (2001), Deja Entendu (2003), and The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me (2006).



My favourite band of all time. I love the way his lyrics really describe the pain he's gone through in life.

I remember seeing in an interview..

"If Your Favourite weapon was a papercut, then The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me is a massive gaping chainsaw wound"

I love that lol.

A lot of their stuff is VERY VERY rough, and very intense. Their later two albums really aren't for melody munchers though. So if you're into your catchy stuff, don't check this band out. But if you like incredible dynamics, whispering to screaming to singing, slow to fast, and achingly beautiful lyrics, the later two albums are for you.

Your Favourite Weapon is favoured towards the Pop Punk genre. It's a much more depressing punk pop, similar to Box Car Racer.

brand new are a great band, lucky enough to see them in august on the reading tour. FW and Deja are the better albums, dont go to much on the devil really.
